namah shivaabhyaam nava yauvanaabhyaam

namO namah shankarapaarvateebhyaam II
I bow down to the youthful Shiva and his consort, the duo bearing a mutually unified body (in the form of Ardhanareeshwara) as the daughter of the Lord of mountains (Parvati) and the Lord with the ensign of bull on his flag (Shiva). Repeated salutation to Shankara and Parvati. 1

shivaatmaanam shivOttamam I

praNamaami sadaashivam II
1 prostrate in salutation to God Shiva who confers auspiciousness, who is of peaceful disposition, who is the manifestation of auspiciousness, and the One who propounds the path of Liberation. 2
vandE soorya shashaanka vahni
nayanam vandE mukunda priyam I
vandE bhaktajanaashrayam cha
varadam vandE shivam shankaram II
I bow down to that Lord who has the sun, moon and fire as his eyes, I bow down to him, the beloved of Mukunda (Vishnu), I bow down to the resort of devotees, the One who confers all desired boons and I bow down to that auspicious Sankara (who is goodness personified). 3
shambhum dEvam sakalajagataam
eeshvaram tam trinEtram I
gaureenaatham sukhadavaradam
chandrachooDam bhajaami II
1 bow down to God Shambhu, Lord of the entire universe, the sovereign Lord sporting three eyes, the Lord of Gauri, the One who confers the boon of comfort and the One having the crescent moon on his crest. 4
mRtyuNjayaaya rudraaya
neelakaNTHaaya shambhavE I
amRtEshaaya sarvaaya
mahaadEvaaya tE namaha II
Salutation to you O, Lord Rudra! who are the conqueror of death, Nilakantha! having a blue-hued neck and Shambhu! who ue immortal and the supreme Lord. 5

sugandhim puSHTivardhanam
urvaarukamiva bandhanaat
mRtyOrmukSHeeya maamRtaat II
We worship the three-eyed Lord (Shiva) whom is fragrant and i lourishes excellently. You may kindly release me from this bondage of death softly as the cucumber releasing from its creeper. ((‘ucumber slowly and softly falls to the ground as it ripens from the creeper it is bound to). 6
